How Basic TrueID® Works
TrueID is a positive identification system and method. TrueID includes point of identity terminal (your Windows-based PC or cash register) customer data input. This solution also offers secure database archival, which allows you to quickly search ID and biometric information.
One-time Enrollment:
Using one of the many industry-standard scanning devices that are available, TrueID:
- Instantly captures photo identification data from of a driver’s license, passport or photo ID.
- Associates the photo ID information with transaction data, payment instruments and/or other identifying data.
- Significantly reduces the ability of the same person to enroll using more than one ID.
- Securely transmits data to a central processing center.
Ongoing Transactions:
The next time the ID is used at a TrueID-equipped Point of Service (POS) location:
- The stored image of the person is automatically and instantly displayed along with transaction history and any flags or alerts associated with that identity.
- POS personnel can verify the individual’s identity by comparing his or her face with the photo of the account holder on file, and see when the last transaction occurred.
- Based upon this match, and whether any flags are displayed, the transaction can proceed and be audited.
